| Meade sells a weight
and balance kit for the LX 200. The kit comes with a rail that mounts
to the bottom of the scope and three weights that slide along the rail
to achieve balance. This works very well, unless the imbalance is
caused by a weight attached to the scope far from the central axis.
Of course, this is exactly what I did by adding the Orion MAK 500 piggy
back onto the LX 200. What you need is a way to add weight
further away from the central axis.
This web page shows a simple modification
I made to the standard Meade weight set. |
